Question Ad not displaying in index.html, other pages ok

    Hello,

I'm setting up ads in my most recent pages at http://estevao.altervista.org. The ads are working in 6 of 7 pages (e.g., http://estevao.altervista.org/bitcoin/bitkey.htm). The single page that is not working is ironically my index.html.

I've been reviewing my HTML code over and over for hours, tried a lot of different positions, disabled other javascript and styles, you name it. But the ads just don't display. I'm at a loss here.

Also, I was trying to set up AdSense but I keep getting denied without any specific explanation. When I was trying that, the error banner was displayed saying I had no account with AdSense. This was using "//en.ad.altervista.org/js2.ad". When I went back to "//en.ad.altervista.org/js.ad", no banner.

The ad is inserted at line 99. Can anyone help?

It seems the 728X90 banner doesn't working. Can you try to use the 300X250 code in index.html?

What happen if you use 728X90 banner in other pages?

    Bye!

    Hi alemoppo,

Thank you for your attention. The 728X90 banner is working fine at other pages, such as http://estevao.altervista.org/video/codecs-patentes.htm

For a split second, I can see index.html making space for the banner, then the space recedes back and nothing is shown. No errors in console either.

It is very strange. Maybe the script will have to be debugged. I can help with that, but since it's hosted by Altervista, I won't be able to correct it if I find a bug.

I have made an exact copy of my index.html at http://estevao.altervista.org/teste.html
In this new page, ads display normally. So the problem is only with index. Both http://estevao.altervista.org/ and http://estevao.altervista.org/index.html do not work. This seems like a logic error in one of the ads scripts.

The only way I can get an ad to work at that page is through my own iframe. Very unelegant...

This is a very strange problem!
    I can't see the banner here: http://estevao.altervista.org/teste.html
You shouldn't use iframe because you eran less.

I investigated without solution. I asked the staff but I still have not received an answer.

    Bye!

    Hello alemoppo,

Thank you for looking into the problem. That is even stranger, earlier today teste.html did show the banner but I just checked again and indeed it does not anymore.

I hope the staff can look into it and find an explanation. Even better if a solution can be achieved.

    Ciao!

The banners work in your account, the problem seems to be in your layout but we don't know what is wrong.
Try modifying something, for example use this page:

    https://validator.w3.org/nu/?doc=htt...ervista.org%2F

    Bye!

Thank you for the suggestion, alemoppo. I have applied the corrections proposed by the validator you indicated, but the ads still don't show up unless inside an iframe or on another page.

I am convinced this is either a fault in the ads script, or my index.html has been blacklisted somehow. When I make a new page with the exact same content, the ad is displayed correctly. I have taken screenshots of http://estevao.altervista.org/test.html proving this.
