How do I upload files from my computer to my website?

I have a number of word files, excel files and pictures on my harddrive which I would like to make avaliable on my altervista website.
How do I do that?

Just log on your control panel (the orange button at the top of the page), then click on file manager

I have done that now and downloaded the files from my harddrive so that I can see the names of the files in the list.
But how do I make the links visible on my website so that others can read the files?

Right-click on one item name in the file manager and select "Copy link address" (or something similar). That is the address (URL) of that resource and you can use it to create a link.
