website email

I have tried 3 different smtp email services to work with joomla and phpbb, cox.net, gmail and smtp2go.

I cant get joomla or phpbb3 to email when a new user registers to the site. Is there something I am missing? I have followed very closely tutorials on how to setup each site's email settings. smtp2go seems to be the easiest and mos user friendly and I follow the settings tutorial and still the site wont send email... can you help?

136 views? and no replies? is anyone on altervista able to get emails sent from their website(s)?

you should use the php mail() function to send email from your applications, external smtp servers are not supported unless they are mail gateways working on http(s)
