    Angry Error 500

    Hello!
Lately, these days I get this error when accessing my themes, plugins and pretty much everything else from my admin bar in Wordpress:

    Error 500

    An error occurred.

This error may be due to an erroneus .htaccess file, added by you or by a script in the current directory.

To access this directory again you have to correct or delete the .htaccess file. You can do it from the section files management of your control panel by clicking on the gear icon.

    Go back

I've searched the net for an answer and could be the .htaccess file, but I don't know which one and what could be the problem, as the standard content of the file found on net I have it too. I don't know what will happen if I delete it (from ftp acess).

Please help me because now I can rarely access my website... :|

    My website is: galatiturism.altervista.org

The problem is more likely caused by a plugin, could you please provide a list of the ones you have active on your blog?
Also, post here the content of the .htaccess file.

    Exclamation

2 days after posting this error it started working better, without any errors. And now still working good.
But I hope it won't get worse.
Plugins I had active at the error 500 moment:
    - All-in-One Event Calendar by Time.ly
    - All-in-One Event Calendar Extended Views by Time.ly
    - Automatic Page Numbers - PageNavi
    - Better RSS Widget
    - Black Studio TinyMCE Widget
    - Booking.com Affiliate plugin
    - Booking.com Official Search Box
    - Cat Signal
    - Code Snippets
    - Cookie Law Info
    - Creative Contact Form
    - Custom Posts Per Page
    - Donate by BestWebSoft
    - Event Post
    - Google AdSense by BestWebSoft
    - Google Language Translator
    - Image Widget
    - Jetpack by WordPress.com
    - Leaflet Maps Marker
    - Media Library Categories
    - Meta Slider
    - Meta Slider Lightbox
    - Official StatCounter Plugin
    - Page Builder Sandwich
    - SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle
    - SiteTree
    - Smart Donations
    - TinyMCE Advanced
    - TinyMCE Advanced Language Pack
    - Updater
    - WordPress SEO
    - WP Google Map Plugin
    - WP Lightbox 2
    - WP Tiles

All those in red are now deactivated. Before the error started, I've last installed the first two plugins and the Meta Slider, Meta Slider Lightbox and WP Lightbox. A few days after those installs I got the error.

    The .htaccess file for now:
    # BEGIN WordPress
    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
    </IfModule>

    # END WordPress

    # # avhp5-engine
    AddHandler av-php5 .php

    php_value post_max_size 20M
    php_value upload_max_filesize 20M

    # # av:Toolbar
    SetEnv AV_TOOLBAR 0

    php_value post_max_size 20M
    php_value upload_max_filesize 20M

    # # av:Toolbar
    SetEnv AV_TOOLBAR 0

    # av:AntiHotlink
    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} \.(gif|jpe?g|png)$ [NC]
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^$
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://([a-z0-9\-\.]*)galatiturism\.altervista\.org
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^\/_altervista_ht\/
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://([a-z0-9\-\.]+)google\.
    RewriteRule .*$ http://hl.altervista.org/split.php?http://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [R,L]
    # AntiHotlink
The red part was the only content of .htaccess file when error occurred.

Now I would need some of the plugins I've deactivated, but I'm afraid that the error will come back...

Try to activate the plugins one by one, in order to better identify which one may be the culprit.
However you must remove plugins like Google AdSense by BestWebSoft, since you are not allowed to put on AlterVista AdSense banners. You can use AdSense only through the AlterVista with AdSense circuit, you can find more information about this on the WordPress admin panel, under the Earn section.

    Thanks for the info.

I've activated some of the plugins and for now it's working good.

As for the AdSense through AlterVista, I allways get an error. I tried reactivating AdSense account, but until now it's not working. I had the account activated at one point, but somehow now I get an error, as I'm not allowed. I will deactivate The plugin (Google AdSense by BestWebSoft) to see if something went wrong because I tried to use 2 ways to add AdSense to my website.

    Thanks for the prompt replies.

Well, nevermind. Trough Google AdSense by BestWebSoft it showed me that my AdSense account was approved, but a few days later I got a message from Google saying that my request for an AdSense account was denied. So I wont use that plugin again...
