Thread: change-of-email does not send confirmation credentials

    Default change-of-email does not send confirmation credentials

    We have DISABLED spam deletion, but we do not receive any
    email with the credentials to confirm change-of-email.

    It has been more than 2 hours.

    Should that email have arrived automatically? or is it first
    reviewed by AlterVista Staff?

    (We are using the profile management from the altervista dashboard.)

    Still waiting, more than 12 hours.

    Is the change-of-email supposed to be automated, or moderated?

    It is automated, but our system was not able to send an email to your new address because the provider asserts it does not exists.

    Thanks.

    Would your system somehow cache the results of the SMTP exchanges?

    I can understand a failure at the beginning, I had created the mailbox at
    internode only minutes before trying to change the alias at altervista.

    But I have just tried again to change email at altervista.
    Credential email is still not getting through. I have been
    able to email to the new mailbox for more than 24 hours.
    (from gmail or from internode, there is no problem.)

    Is the failure "does not exist" or is it a failure of some protocol of authentication?
