Can't update plugings in WP

Hi,

Every time I try to update plugins in Wordpress I get this message:

"Connection Information

To perform the requested action, WordPress needs to access your web server. Please enter your FTP credentials to proceed. If you do not remember your credentials, you should contact your web host."

But when I try to update with my ftp username & pw I always get error message:

"Failed to connect to FTP Server ftp.pottytraining.altervista.org:21"

So how I can update plugins?
