Confused about how to get started.

This is my first time using using AlterVista and so far I'm pretty confused.

Whenever I try to open my site, nothing loads and it times out. I know it's not my net because everything else is working fine. I just activated CloudFlare and I guess I'll have to see if that helps in a day or so.

In the mean time, I've been trying to edit my pages. But every time I try to work on my index page, it gives me this message: "File index.html has not been saved. Check file permissions or those of its folder." How exactly do I edit permissions? I don't see any links for that.

I really don't understand how to get my pages up and visible. Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe you tried too early to access your site. A newly create website requires some minutes to be reachable by everyone.

The thing with the permission is a little bit strange. Try to delete that file and create a new one with the same name.
