problems with creating subdomains

Hi!
I'm trying to create a subdomain but each time i receive an error:
"A index.php external file is already present, cannot go on, if you rename or remove it, check than scripts are still active"

Would you provide some information about making a subdomain please Or can i find a manual about this somewhere?

This happens because the subdomain redirect is based on your index.php file, if a file index.php already exists (as it happens in your webspace) you are unable to create any subdomain using AlterVista control panel.

You may want to create subdomains using mod_rewrite: mod_rewrite - Apache HTTP Server
