Default How to use TLS with FTP?

Firefox addon FireFTP works fine unsecured, but when I select "Auth TLS", all I get is:

ftp.---.altervista.org uses an invalid security certificate.

    - The certificate is only valid for *.altervista.org.

    ftp.---.altervista.org:21

Unable to obtain identification status for the given site.
    Is there a solution?

Unless you have Cloudflare active you can also conect using name.altervista.org, however you should connect as well to ftp.name.altervista.org with FireFTP adding an exception

    Thanks Gianluca, name.altervista.org worked!

I agree, I want to add an exception, and I pressed the two FireFTP buttons to add the exception, but it fails with the above messages. It might be a Firefox or FireFTP bug; if you can tell me an alternate way to obtain the TLS certificate for ftp.*.altervista.org (or whatever) then I will install it manually.
