How to start??

Apologies in advance for sounding stupid but I'm just at a loss where to start creating my website. I've registered on the Altervista site and found the control panel and from what I've read I need to find APPLICATIONS and then choose ALTERPAGES. However I cannot find the APPLICATIONS option anywhere. What am I doing wrong?? Any help appreciated please. Just want to get started.

AlterPages is an outdated CMS that I don't recommend to use it.

You have signed up for a Blog account, so you have Wordpress pre-installed and you can't install AlterPages or other applications: you should have an alterSite account to do that.

I suggest you stay with WordPress and use it.

You can switch to AlterSite during the first days of registration, from Settings -> Convert to AlterSite.
It is also possible to register an alterSite account from the homepage by choosing "hosting" from the homepage.
