Site Version Alterpages vs Joomla

I was using Alterpages, I have decided to switch to Joomla 3 the install went well but
if I type
http://outdoorpics.altervista.org/index.html
or
http://outdoorpics.altervista.org/
it brings up the alterpages version

to get the joomla version I have to type
http://outdoorpics.altervista.org/index.php

is there a way to make the Joomla version the default one ?

Solved it, I had to go into the cached folder on line and delete index.html.
