Contatore ' Visit Counter

I do not know how to add a Counter at the bottom of the Homepage of my site. Can anybody help, please?

To add a counter.
First click on tools, then visit counter, then arrow symbol in front of ,customize visit counter.
At the bottom of the page on screen, after clicking customize visit counter, is the html code for the counter.
Then put the page you want the counter in, on the screen. Edit that page, by pasting the html code where you want the counter.
