Drupal version

I just installed Drupal 7.32 and upon proceeding got a security update request at:

Home » Administration » Reports » Available updates

This is something that needs carried out on the Altervista side, right?

The AlterVista update isn't available yet. If you decide to update Drupal without using the AlterVista installer, you won't be able to use the AlterVista installer to install the updates in the future.
