Can't access Wordpress dashboard

After two years without using a website made using Wordpress, I was prompted to access the dashboard to keep it alive. I can successfully access the Altervista dashboard, but when I try to manage WordPress, I'm asked for my WordPress account and, after sending the password, everything goes stuck. I've tried from two different browsers.

Are you entering your credentials correctly? The username is "oliovivo".
Can you try upgrade your wordpress from here?

As soon as I accessed the Altervista dashboard, I accepted a proposed update to Wordpress. Then, I realised that I couldn't find the original password for my Wordpress account and so I asked for a new one. Now, I have a new password that should work (at least, the system doesn't reject it), but I still can't get to the Wordpress CMS.
I've tried to access from the Altervista dashboard (the link that you provided), from the direct URL (http://oliovivo.altervista.org/wp-admin/) and from the upper panel in the webpage, but the outcome is always the same.
As the last option, I also tried to access from the Wordpress website (https://it.wordpress.com/, I don't know if it makes any sense), but my credentials (both my username "oliovivo" and my email) are unknown over there.

(Thank you for the hint, but since I started on the English side, it's probably better to continue here, if you don't mind).
