I am running a website for the student newspaper at my college, and it uses some sort of link shortener. I have no idea how it all works since I just took over running it for someone else who quit. All I've had to do so far was post new articles, etc, but now something is screwy.
Now, with the home page it works just fine like it's supposed to. But, if you click any link (like, to an article), you get an error message that says the following:
"Destination Unknown
Everything's working on our side, so the short link you clicked is either wrong or has been retired."
To get it to work, you have to get into the address bar and replace ".com" with ".altervista.org"
I don't know what's wrong and I've been trying to fix it. Some link shortener is involved but I'm not finding any solutions. Any help would be appreciated
It would be nice to know why the link shortener isn't working though. You used to be able to go to, oh say, deltacollegiate.com/archives and it would redirect to deltacollegiate.altervista.org/archives, now it wouldn't do that anymore. At least going to deltacollegiate.com still works
Now that it's on the new deltacollegiate.altervista.org home page, new articles that I post with Wordpress are not showing up on the home page. I made sure to set the "feature on home page" setting and it didn't work. What's the deal?
