Two days ago I activated the domain www.code4projects.net and I contacted the support team for an issue. After a while, I received the solution to my problem but in the same email, they said to not use the UpdraftPlus plugin. I am trying it because I want a backup of my website I use for several reasons:
1. restore in case of issues
2. use for local development
Now I don't know if Altervista has its own backup mechanism and backups are accessible by the end-user. Does anyone know an answer to my doubt?
What does this mean? Tools Export/Import is not something I can do automatically every week.
The plugin works fine. I create it every week (automatically) a backup and store it on my Amazon S3 account.
Is there any restriction from a Terms and Condition point of view?
Moreover, what happens if, for some reason, my blog is lost forever. Does Altervista have a backup to restore it?
I Just noticed that there is a Backup option in my blog that I have to Pay 5.88 Eur for a weekly backup for 1 year.
Is my understanding correct?
So if I am correct, I have to disable Updraft because not legal on Altervista, then activate the Altervista option.
Personally I don't know about that plugin, but in general there are no "prohibited" plugins.
The only case that you can't insert a plugin is if it inserts some banner ads.
On AlterVista there is already a free backup mechanism that can be used (on alterBlog accounts), and it is on Tools -> Backup -> Time Machine.
The others most frequently types of backups are not free.
