I had an old altervista account, where you could just upload the files and manually create a site.
I did enable ftp. Can I use this to set up in the old way, and still preserve the wordpress option?

You can activate the FTP with WordPress account only in "wp-content" folder.
If you want a "classic" hosting account, you can register it from here (Hosting with file manager).
Bye!
There is an issue: even with FTP Active and nation filter off, is refusing the connection:
Status: TLS connection established.
Command: USER ftp@isac
Response: 331 User ftp@isac OK. Password required
Command: PASS *********
Response: 530 Authentication failed. The country you are connecting from is not in your country list, please add it in your control panel.
Error: Critical error: Could not connect to server
Did you wait a few minutes before trying again?
Could you please let me know which country you are trying to connect from?
Bye!
