Sub Domain name servers ns355, ns352, ns42.altervista.org

All of these name servers are unreachable via Comcast. I have truncated the returns for brevity. The first IP, 78.129.205.47 was assigned to me and then blocked by Comcast. I terminated that site and got a new site and was assigned IP 78.129.205.50 and that IP is blocked as of 5 February 2018. I have subsequently engaged CloudFlare and have no issues other than connecting via FTP software. However, the above listed Name Servers of Altervista are not reachable. Comcast is a major player in Internet service and to have altervista blocked is not good form. Moreover, since 78.129.205.50 is blocked, I cannot connect to ftp.legionpost869.altervista.org via my FTP software and Dreamweaver.

Comcast has been blocking ns352 and ns355 for a month. Could you provide us with more information about this problem including what is being done to resolve it? A month seems like an obscene amount of time for legitimate sites to be blocked.

We have contacted comcast, but the problem has not yet been solved. They have to unlock the connection.

It took 2 weeks but I was able to get Comcast to unblock ns352.altervista.org. I don't know if it's unblocked everywhere or just in my area.

If your site is still blocked, or if you own the server that is being blocked (looking at you Altervista :) ) I suggest you contact the Comcast customer security assurance center: 888-565-4329 and explain that Comcast has been blocking the IP for 2 months but the illegal sites on that IP have been shut down. Skip directly to level 2 otherwise you'll be stuck in a "it's user error" loop forever. You do not need to swap out your modem. You do not need to change your browser settings. A tracert to your blocked server should prove that the site is being blocked by Comcast and that should be enough to get the ball rolling with actual problem-solvers at Comcast.
