Altervista website with github

Is there any way to use altervista and git hub together? Or at least some way to access my altervista site database through a site hosted with github? I'd like to be able to use what I have through hosting on altervista, but I also want the version control because I'm trying to get better at developing that way vs just having a single version of the code being worked on.
