Can't change my e-mail address

I know how to change the e-mail address on my hosting account, but I don't understand why I keep getting the error message "invalid e-mail address". The address is certainly valid, as other sites are accepting it without any difficulty. Is there a solution?

Probably the email is associated with a blacklisted domain. Does the problem occur with @gmail?

I don't know, because I don't have Gmail or even a Google account. Looks like I won't be changing my e-mail address, after all..

Looks like you were right, alemoppo. I was using a blacklisted mail service. I've now changed to a better webmail service and AlterVista accepted it. Thanks for your help!
