Thread: SMTP isnt working for phpBB!

    Question SMTP isnt working for phpBB!

    I made a post on the official phpBB support forum aswell about this.

    I don't know what to do, like, the emails arent going through, It works fine with Gmail/Outlook etc but not from webmail client. Help ???

    Apparently I get this email:
    phpBB is correctly configured to send emails

    SMTP is not available on AlterVista because it is possible to use only the ports 80 (http) and 443 (https).

    So i suggest you to set "use SMPTP server for email" to "no".

    So what port and settings do I use then?

    You can't use SMTP, so check "no" and the CMS will use the local mail function (supported on AlterVista).
