posix_getpid()

Good morning all,
I have searched for this problem on the forum but I have found no solution.
I am having an issue with a call to the posix_getpid() function. The answer is "Fatal error: Call to undefined function posix_getpid()"

Shouldn´t the posix functions be enabled by default?
Is there a way for me to enable it again?
