Unable to update plugins or take backup of site

I have a few out of date plugins on my site but when I try to update any of them I get "Update failed: The package could not be installed."

I have also tried doing a backup of my site and that also failed.

It is possible that I have run out of disk space. Is there any way that I can check on the disk space being used and find which files are using most space.

The WordPress managed hosting have Unlimited web space.
Could you try to repair the site?

Thanks - I have now had a message to confirm that we have run out of space.

Is there a way I can see what the size of the files I have stored on the site to see if I can remove some of the larger ones.

Also can you point me at where I can find details of the managed hosting?

Hello.

Currently, in Altervista you can have 2 types of account: WordPress managed hosting and Hosting with file manager. You can check the differences here.

If you want to use WordPress, i recommend to use the WordPress managed hosting (it's unlimited in space and traffic). After making backup (and also from Tools->Export), you can change the type from here.

It seems like you have many backups in your space. You can manage them through FTP. If you use the Altervista backup, it won't take up your space.
