No access to website

I have a first daft of an AlterPages web . I have copied it onto my pc as 'index.html' and tranferred it to AlterVista using FileZilla but get nothing if I try to visit it.
What else do I need to do?

if you use AlterPages you have to use the online editor, edit the html code manually is not recommended
