Default Is there support for RTL blogging?

I've started a Right-to-Left (Persian) WP blog, and I'm grappled with the same old LTR-RTL inconsistencies.

Is there a way so that an RTL WP blog on Alter behaves naturally?

    • Can I add a direction tag? If so, where?
    • Is there something I have to install? If so, what?
    • Or, does Alter support RTL at all?

Change the language for the blog in the Settings page, it should fix the direction problems.

I had already tried that but the translations are incomplete, hence an odd appearance. That's why I've kept the English setting for the time to see what way I can find. RTL is critical to my blogging plan anyway.

    Could you please explain further?

What you have on AlterVista is a WordPress blog with some customizations (in order to integrate the blog with our platform), additional features and many free professional themes. Our customizations however don't affect in any way the RTL support, so that is the same you get on a standard WordPress blog.

The green arrows show the positive and the red ones show the negative effects of changing the language in the Dashboard from US English to Persian.

As you said, the RTL issue has been resolved this way (green arrows). By "odd appearance", I meant the ones shown by red arrows.

Do you mean the missing translations? I'd suggest you to try different themes, maybe also search in your own language suggestion about using WordPress in Persian, like which themes are better designed for RTL languages, or which plugins can help.

Thank you Karl. I'll keep you informed when I got any results.
